Dear Ones,
I have come to truly cherish the Church of the Epiphany community and the ministries such as Diocese of Pennsylvania, the Valley Forge Deanery and the Spring-Ford Pastor’s Association, which we are all connected for me in ministry, collegiality and fellowship! I am so excited to be working with the new vestry and the various committees. We are reaching great heights in stewardship, outreach, worship, and beyond. The web site is rocketing us into the world of blogs, pictures and live events thanks to the exuberant attention of our very own Chris Exley! Hooray!
I am looking so forward to spring but am a hoping that the allergy season doesn’t coincide too quickly with the passing of the snow. Already I hear wonderful bird songs early in the morning, am in awe of the quality of light as the days lengthen, and am thrilled to get my bike all ready for a long season of riding! Springtime in Eastern Pennsylvania is proving to be quite spectacular.
Easter is coming! In preparation for Holy Week, I want all to be aware that we are hosting a Wednesday Lenten Program Presentation led by Erick Kearns on March 17, 2010 at 7:00 pm. We will be having a Maundy Thursday service followed by the youth vigil on April 1. Then we are hosting the Pastoral Association for our Good Friday service at 7pm, April 2. I am proud and pretty darn excited about these demonstrations of ecumenical sharing in the community. Saturday night, April 3, we will have the Easter Vigil and then of course, Sunday, April 4 is Easter!!!
As most of you already know, I have a new life in my immediate family. Her name is Tryphosa (see Romans 16.12!) and she is a 6 month old Silver Labrador. She is such a wonderful puppy and I am genuinely blessed! Several others in our community have similar blessings and to them I say congratulations!
